If you’ve just purchased your 4Runner, then you’ll want to have it serviced after 5,000 miles of driving. This will be our service team’s first look at the car, and it’s not a maintenance appointment you want to skip.
So, what’s part of the 5,000-mile checkup? We’re glad you asked.
If you often use the Toyota 4Runner for towing, or if you tend to drive on dirty, dusty, or muddy roads, you may need to have the engine oil changed, too. Of course, we want you to be able to hit the trails whenever you want in your 4Runner, so be sure to have the oil changed so your engine can provide the best possible performance.
At the 30,000-mile mark, your Toyota 4Runner should receive another inspection. This is a more extensive inspection, so we want to highlight it.
At this point, our service team will check everything covered during your 5,000-mile inspection, as well as also inspect:
The steering box will need to be inspected for leaks and wear when the rest of the steering system is inspected. You’ll particularly want this inspected if you do a lot of off-roading because you need to be able to control the vehicle when you’re not on the pavement.
We’ll also inspect the steering linkage and boots to ensure the entire system is safe and secure.
It’s important to stay up to date with Toyota 4Runner maintenance. We can handle any repairs at our dealership, both minor and major. Of course, preventative maintenance is one of the best things you can do for your 4Runner. We’re here to protect that powerful V6 engine, replace the brake pads so you can stop the vehicle safely, and handle any minor items like coolant adjustments and wiper blade replacement.
Is it time for your next service appointment? Our maintenance schedule has taken a closer look at some of the key times you need to visit us. If it is time for an appointment, make one online today.
