Overall, the Double Cab may be slightly better for families. It has an extra eight inches of rear-seat legroom that may give back-row passengers more space to stretch out in during road trips. It also seats five passengers compared to the Access Cab’s four passengers, meaning you can bring more of the family along for the ride.

However, solo riders may find that the Access Cab offers all the space they need. Although it has less room for 2nd-row riders, the lower curb weight of the Access Cab awards it slightly higher payload and towing capabilities. This makes it a favorite among fleet owners.
